  • Lifesaving projects in South Kordofan provide clean water for over 59,000 people in Abu Kershola

     

    Hassan Adam is a 45 year old male living in Abu Kershola locality in South Kordofan with his wife and 6 children, 3 girls and 3 boys. Abu Kershola has a total population of 59,169. Hassan and his family were originally settled in Abu Ketera, in South Kordofan, however their village was attacked as a result of tribal conflicts, forcing them to move.

  • Displaced Persons Set Up Thriving Businesses in West Kordofan through IOM Assistance

    IOM Sudan collaborated with national NGO partners to provide training on skills and business planning to 207 individuals from 2014-2015. Trainees devised business ideas, among them Hamad, whose proposal was one of 50 that were selected in his state for business start-up assistance. Across the programme, a total of 150 proposals were selected, 50 from each state and provided with start-up kits.

  • Third country nationals (TCNs) evacuated from Yemen

     

    IOM organized two evacuation flights from Sana’a to Khartoum International Airport, Haj & Umra Terminal last week, carrying a total of 285 third country nationals (TCNs) from 19 different nationalities since 12 April 2015.

  • Sudanese NGOs Join Forces to Reduce Conflict

    On 7th of Nov 2014 IOM and UNDP have hosted a two-day workshop in Khartoum to bring together 45 Sudanese NGOs from Blue Nile, South Kordofan and West Kordofan States to discuss their role in strengthening the resilience of conflict-affected communities and reducing tensions.

  • Japan Supports IOM Community, Socio-Economic, Labour Market Survey in Darfur

    On 6th of Feb 2015 IOM signed an agreement with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to conduct a Community, Socio-Economic and Labour Market Survey in Darfur.
