Our WorkAs the leading inter-governmental organization promoting humane and orderly migration, IOM plays a key role to support the achievement of the 2030 Agenda through different areas of intervention that connect both humanitarian assistance and sustainable development. Across Sudan, IOM provides a comprehensive response to the humanitarian needs of migrants, internally displaced persons, returnees and host communities.

IOM works to ensure that Sudan can benefit from the significant socio-economic advantages that regular and orderly labour migration can bring, and will keep providing technical support to the Government of Sudan to ensure the effective management of labour migration in order to protect migrants and support the development of new policy frameworks. IOM also works with relevant stakeholders to develop innovative approaches to increase diaspora engagement and increase the transfer of valuable, sustainable skills, knowledge, and resources to Sudan.
