Construction of the First Children's Day Care Facility in South Abyei
Mothers in South Abyei can now go to work typically selling tea and local food; knowing that their children are safely taken care of at the Agok Day Care Facility. With the capacity to care for up to 40 children (newborn to 10 years old) every day, the Facility is the first of its kind in South Abyei. After 3 months of construction with logistical support from IOM Sudan, and the generous funding support of the United Nations Interim Security Forces for Abyei- Quick Impact projects 2014-15; the opening ceremony held on the 26th January 2016 included attendance from local community members, UNISFA and local government representatives.
