IOM Completes its Seventh Basic Level Document Security Training for Sudanese Immigration Officers
26 officers from the Sudanese immigration department, Khartoum International Airport, Gedaref Land Border Crossing Point and National Intelligence and Security Services (NISS) completed 5 days of basic level training on document security, identification and forgery delivered by Document Security and ID Expert Mr. Alex Van Duuren from the Netherlands.
The course was the seventh of a series of trainings under IOM Sudan Immigration and Border Management programme and implemented under “ Providing Technical Support to Improve Border and Migration Management in Sudan” which is funded by IOM’s Development Fund (IDF). The trainings aim to enhance the capacity of the relevant immigration, security and airport immigration officers in identifying forged and fraudulent travel and other documents; as well as increase the response level of immigration officers on document security instruction and examination and share best practices and case studies to tackle with cross border crimes related to document security and forgeries.
