IOM Distributes Emergency Shelters and Non-Food items to 1,000 families in Shangel Tobay, North Darfur
The distribution came as a result of an assessment carried out by the IOM DTM/ESNFI team in coordination with Dar El Salam Development Association that lasted from 26th to 28th of January. The families were selected based on their vulnerability and included unaccompanied elders, people with special needs, single females and single parents many of which were protracted IDPs.
Shangel Tobay is one of three administrative units in Dar el Salam locality approximately 80 km South of El Fasher town, North Darfur State. There are three IDP camps in the area; Nifasha, Shadad and Um Deraisay. The ES/NFI assistance comprised of blankets, plastic sheets, sleeping mats, kitchen sets and Jerry cans.
