Our WorkAs the leading inter-governmental organization promoting humane and orderly migration, IOM plays a key role to support the achievement of the 2030 Agenda through different areas of intervention that connect both humanitarian assistance and sustainable development. Across Sudan, IOM provides a comprehensive response to the humanitarian needs of migrants, internally displaced persons, returnees and host communities.

IOM's Migration Management and Development (MMD) unit assists and fosters the Government of Sudan’s efforts towards orderly, safe and responsible migration management to benefit migrants and Sudan alike. The unit also works regionally to promote shared frameworks between Sudan and other governments on how to manage regular and irregular migration flows into, through and from Sudan, assist vulnerable migrants, and benefit Sudan's development.
